Oats Uttappam


Ingredients:

1 ½ cup Oats
1 cup Sooji / Rava
½ cup Rice / wheat flour (optional)
Finely Chopped Onion, tomatoes, green chilies and coriander leaves
Salt
Oil
Curd

Instructions:

  • ·         Mix the first three ingredients with salt and water – keep aside for 40 minutes
  • ·         Later whisk it nicely and little water to bring it to perfect consistency. For Uttappa it should be thick batter and not watery
  • ·         Heat a nonstick tawa, grease it few drops of oil, pour a ladle of batter and make a small and thick uttappa in mid flame
  • ·         Add chopped onion, tomatoes, chilies and coriander leaves on the top
  • ·         With a wooden flat spoon gently press the toppings into the batter
  • ·         Turn the uttappa, add oil and let it cook in high flame till the toppings are a little brown
  • ·         Turn again and let the other side cook on high flame for few minutes to make it crispy
  • ·         Serve with chill curd or coconut chutney
