Sankarpali


Ingredients:

Maida – 2 cups
Rava / sooji – ½ cup
Jeera / Cumin seeds – 1 tspn
Owa / Ajwain/ Carom seeds – ½ tsp
Salt
Water
Butter / Ghee – 2 tbsp, melted
Oil to fry

Instructions:

  • ·         In a mixing bowl add all the above ingredients
  • ·         Make a dough with water, like in case of roti/chapatti
  • ·         Keep it aside for atleast 2 hours, so that the rava expands with the moisture
  • ·         After few hours, heat a wok with Oil
  • ·         Meanwhile take a ball size dough and roll it into a circle, the same way as making roti
  • ·         After its rolled, cut the circle into diamond shaped pieces (cutting it parallel lengths diagonally from 2 directions)
  • ·         Fry the diamond shaped pieces until its slightly brown and crispy
  • ·         This is a snack made during Diwali
