Mixed Dal fry


Ingredients:


Black Channa, Dried Green Peas, Moong dal, Horse gram – one handful of each, soak it together overnight
1 big chopped Onion
Dry Red chilies
Curry leaves
Hing, Turmeric powder, Chili powder, Coriander powder ½ tbsp, Cumin powder 1 tbsp, Pinch of Sugar, Salt
Chopped Coriander leaves and Squeeze of lime
Fresh grated coconut

Instructions:

  • -          Add all the soaked dal into a microwave safe bowl with little water, cover the lid and microwave High for 8 mins. Keep aside
  • -          Now heat oil in a pan, add mustard seeds and when it splitters add hing, chopped onion, curry leaves and red chilies – sauté
  • -          When onion is golden brown add the steamed dal mixture, Turmeric powder, Chili powder, Coriander powder ½ tbsp, Cumin powder 1 tbsp, Pinch of Sugar and Salt
  • -          Mix well and let it cook covered. If necessary add little water to it
  • -          When cooked add grated fresh coconut scraps, toss well
  • -          Switch off the burner, garnish with chopped coriander leaves and dash of lime squeeze
  • -          Serve hot as healthy snack/ breakfast and also a good side dish for rice recipies
(I dint had coconut when i prepared thats why you cant see it in the pic)
