Pomfret Racheado-rava fry

Ingredients:


Black Pomfret pieces – ½ kg
Racheado masala (Goan home-made masala, prepared by my friend’s mom)
Rava, turmeric powder, chili powder and salt (mix together)

Steps:

  • Clean, wash and apply turmeric powder, salt and lime juice to the fish pieces – keep aside for 10 mins
  • Then wash them once, both stufff the racheado masala inside as well as apply it outside the fish pieces
  • Marinate for atleast 1 hour in the fridge
  • Before cooking take the marinated fish out and keep it on the plate filled with rava mix. Turn the pieces till the rava mixture covers all the sides of the fish
  • Now heat non-stick pan with little oil to shallow fry the fish
  • Once its hot place the rava coated fish pieces in it to fry
  • It takes a long time to cook. Maintain medium flame so that rava doesn’t get burnt (mine got burnt a little since I dint have enough patience and increased flame) and also keep turning the sides to make sure it gets cooked evenly
  • You can even cover the pan while cooking so that it cooks faster in its own steam
