Channa Masala


Ingredients:
Soaked Channa - 2 cup
Potato - 2
Bay leaf, cloves, cinnamon
Onion - 2 (chopped)
Groundnuts
Kas-kas
Ginger-garlic-green chili paste
Coconut paste
Turmeric powder, Salt, Coriander powder and Garam masala.

Steps:

  • Add most of the chopped onion, ginger, garlic, green chilies, groundnut, kas-kas and coriander powder into a mixer jar and make a paste 
  • Heat cooker with oil, add the bay leaf, cloves, cinnamon, onion and saute till it turns brown
  • Now add the paste and saute well
  • Add the Turmeric powder, Salt, Coriander powder and Garam masala, saute well
  • Add soaked channa and chopped potatoes, mix well
  • Add water and close the lid, cook it till 2 whistles
  • Once done open the lid of cooker and add the coconut paste and enough quantity water
  • Let it boil in low flame for few minutes, adjust the salt and masala as per taste and turn off the burner
Garnish with chopped coriander, also squeeze a little lime juice to induce wonderful flavor and taste. Serve hot with chapati, roti or phulka.
