Moringa Soup

Moringa is the common name for Drumstick tree leaves and its very healthy. It has lots of Iron which helps produce more Blood cells and also improves Immunity power. It also cleans the stomach and helps remove toxins from the body. So if yo have this tree in the neighbourhood make use of it in some or the other way every week.

  • Wash the moringa leaves and if possible flowers as well
  • Heat 4 cups of water to a pressure cooker and add these leaves and flowers
  • Let it start boiling while we prepare the masala for it (dont close the cooker)
  • In a small mixie jar add 1teaspoon cumin seeds, 1 tablespoon full of black pepper, 4-5 garlic and 1 teaspoon coriander powder - make paste
  • Add that paste into the now boiling water in cooker and close the lid
  • Wait for 2-3 whistles
  • Once the steam is released completely add a pinch of salt, coz if you add more it will taste bitter
  • Try to filter the leaves if you dont want to eat that, but try to retain few leaves as well as the whole masala coz it gives the taste and also you will feel the heat of black pepper in the throat which is good to cure common cold or throat infection
