Ingredients:
- Crumbled leftover idlis (better kept in the fridge until you prepare since it might become sour)
- Oil
- Mustard and Cumin seeds
- Chana dal / Kadala paruppu - 1 tsp
- Urad dal / Ulunthu paruppu - 1 tsp
- Chopped Onion - 1,medium sized
- Curry leaves
- Few peanuts
- Green chilies, chopped / Dry Red Chilies
- Coriander leaves, chopped - for garnish
- Turmeric powder / Haldi / Manjal thool
- Lemon juice (optional-use for tanginess only if the idlis are not already sour)
- Salt to taste
- Heat oil in a wide pan and add Chana dal and Urad dal
- As they get slightly brown add Mustard and Cumin seeds and roasted peanuts
- When it splitters,add curry leaves, chopped onions and chilies- saute
- When the onions turn translucent add haldi and salt to taste - mix
- Add the crumbled idlis, mix well and fry in medium flame for few minutes
- Turn off the flame before it gets burnt at the bottom of the pan
- Garnish with chopped coriander leaves and lemon juice
