Sambar

Dal - 150g
Turmeric powder
Green chillies - 3
Garlic cloves - 3
Hing

* Pressure cook all the above ingredients with 2 cups of water
* Chop vegetables of your choice like Potatos, Drumstick (my fav), Brinjal, Raddish, even Carrot and Beans.
* Chopped and mashed tomato  1
* Add water to the mashed tomato and chopped vegetables along with Sambar masala and turmeric powder.
* Let it boil inorder to cook the vegetables and once the vegetables are almost cooked add tamarind water to it. Let it boil for few more mins.
* Then add the pressure cooked dal and salt for Sambar.

For tadka - Heat Oil, Red Chillies - 2, long sliced Onions and Curry leaves.

* Add the tadka to the Sambar along with chopped coriander leaves and mix well.

Tasty Sambar is ready!
