Raw Rice (unboiled rice) - 2 cups
Moong dal - 1 cup
Salt
* Mix the above ingredients with water and pressure cook it.
Tadka:- Oil, Jeera (Cumin seeds), whole black pepper - 8-10, Curry leaves, Very tiny chopped ginger, 1 elaichi and few broken Cashew nuts.
* Add the tadka to the rice and mix well.
Ven Pongal is ready... Serve with Sambar or Coconut Chutney.
