Fresh Coconut Chutney

South Indian Chutneys are mostly side-dishes for idli and dosa. But sometimes can also be mixed with hot rice and it will taste good. So here is the first Chutney recipe of my blog.

Fresh coconut scrapes/small pieces - use half coconut (to serve 4 people)
Fried bengal gram (Pottu Kadalai) - just about 5-10g
dry red chillis - 2 (or as per your preference)
Salt to taste and
2 garlic cloves

Grind to make paste of all these ingredients in a mixie.

Once done, add little water to maintain consistency of your choice. Chutney is ready with just the last but most important step left.

Now, heat oil in a small kadai. When its hot add mustard seeds and when it splitters add curry leaves and turn off the burner. Now add this to the chutney and mix well. Its ready now.......
