Cabbage Rice


Ingredients:


Cabbage – thin slices, a handful
Leftover / cooked rice – 1 cup
Green Chilies
Olive Oil
Garlic cloves – 2 or 3, finely chopped
Vinegar
Salt
Pepper powder
Spices like Star Anise and Mace (optional)
Green Peas for better color and appearance (optional, I did not add)

Instructions:

  • ·         Heat olive oil in a wok and saute chilies and garlic, along with the spices
  • ·        Then add cabbage slices and green peas – saute with salt, pepper powder and Vinegar
  • ·         When the cabbage starts to get slightly brown add the leftover rice and keep tossing the rice in high flame for few minutes
  • ·         Simple and tasty cabbage rice is ready
  • ·         Serve it with side dish such as Schezwan sauce or Sweet Chilli Sauce for the Chinese punch
