Rava Kichdi / Rava Upma


Ingredients:

White Rava – 1 cup
Carrot
Potato
Green peas / matter
Onion
Green Chilies
Very finely chopped Ginger
Coriander leaves
Oil
Urad dal and channa dal – 1 tbsp each
Mustard seeds
Salt

Instructions:

  • ·         Heat oil in a pan, add urad dal and channa dal – when its slightly brown add mustard seeds to it
  • ·         When it splitters add finely chopped Onion, ginger and green chilies – sauté
  • ·         Finely chop Potato and Carrot. Add it to the pan along with handful of Green peas – sauté
  • ·         Add Turmeric powder, salt and chopped Coriander leaves – sauté for a while and add rava to it
  • ·         Keep mixing while the rava gets slightly fried, but don’t let it burn – maybe for 5 mins
  • ·         Meanwhile heat water in another vessel and add to the sautéed rava and veggies
  • ·         Keep stirring while it cooks
  • ·         Serve hot with chopped coriander leaves and coconut scrapings as garnish
  • ·         Can be served along with Coconut chutney... Its awesome combination
