Lauki
/ Bottle gourd – washed, peeled and grated
Chopped
green chilies and Coriander leaves
Chili
powder, Salt, Turmeric powder, Coriander powder and Kala Ghoda masala
Oil
to deep fry
For
the gravy / Curry:
Onion
– 1 ½ medium sized
Tomato
– 1 big sized
Garlic
cloves – 5-6
Ginger
– half inch piece
Cashew
nuts – 6-7
Green/Red
chilies – 4-5
Salt,
Turmeric powder, Coriander powder, Garam masala and a Pinch of Sugar
Instructions:
ü First of all when the lauki
is grated, add salt to it and keep it aside for 10 mins. It will leave water.
Drain the water completely and then add rest of the ingredients to it and deep
fry into koftas.
ü This way the dough will not
be watery and wont break the koftas. Also store the lauki drained water for the
gravy.
ü Once koftas are ready lets
make the gravy.
ü Add the following
ingredients to a mixer jar to make curry paste :-
o Chopped onion, Green/red
chilies, Ginger, Garlic, Cashew nuts and Chopped Tomato
ü Now add oil in a kadai, add mustard seeds and when it
crackles add the curry paste
ü Keep stirring for 5-10 mins
so that the raw smell vanishes and add water to get the required consistency
ü Add salt, turmeric powder,
coriander powder , Garam Masala and Pinch of Sugar and let it boil for few mins
ü When done, turn off the
burner and add the fried koftas to it
ü Serve with Chapati, Parantha
or Pulka roti
ü Taste creamy and yummy….
Especially when the koftas are nicely soaked in the curry
