Ingredients:
Soaked
Channa dal / kadalai paruppu – 2 cups (4 hours)
Finely
chopped onion – 1
Chopped
Green chilies
Saunf
/ Sombu – 1 tbps
Curry
leaves
Cinnamon
sticks
Chopped
Pudina leaves / Mint (optional)
Chopped
Coriander leaves
Ginger-garlic
paste
Red
chilies
Chili
powder, Turmeric powder, Garam masala, Salt
Steps:
- · First of all take a handful of soaked channa dal in a small mixer jar, add red chilies, saunf, cinnamon sticks, ginger-garlic paste, curry leaves and salt – make paste of this mixture
- · Keep it aside in a bowl
- · Now add rest of the soaked channa dal in a bigger mixie jar – coarse grind it WITHOUT ADDING WATER for just 2 mins (do not make a fine paste)
- · Now add that also to the bowl along with Chili powder, Turmeric powder, Garam masala and salt - mix well (can be stored in fridge and reused whenever you want to prepare)
- · But just before frying it add Chopped onions, coriander leaves, green chilies and pudina leaves – mix well
- · Once oil is hot, take a small ball of dough, flatten it without cracks and fry it till golden brown in colour
- · Enjoy with hot tea during rainy season especially
