Ingredients:
Big Onions - 4 (chopped into fine pieces)
Tomato - 1 (big in size and chopped)
Green chillies - 3-4
Ginger-garlic paste
Curry leaves
Coconut - cut handful of coconut pieces and grind it smoothly in a mixer
Spices - Bay leaf, cloves, cinnamon, black pepper, mustard, cumin seeds etc.
Masala - Turmeric powder, coriander powder(half teaspoon), chilli powder, Sambar masala (my preference) and salt
Prawns - clean, wash well, drain the water and keep it aside. I used small prawns which is better for this type of gravy.
Steps:
1. Heat oil in a pan and add the spices starting with bay leaf, cloves, cinnamon etc and then add mustard and cumin seeds as well.
2. Add chopped onions, green chillies, curry leaves and ginger garlic paste and let it cook till brown in colour.
3. Add all masalas and mix it well.
4. Add chopped tomatoes as well and when its cooked well and blended into a gravy, add prawns and cook again in medium flame for 10 mins.
5. Add ground coconut to it, mix well and allow to boil for 5 mins.
The creamy delicious prawns curry which is my favourite is ready!
