Chhole

Ingredients:

Onions - 3 (paste)
Onion - 1 chopped
Tomatoes - 2 chopped
Ginger garlic paste
Tamarind Paste - 1 tsp (mixed in little water to avoid lumps)
Cloves, Cinnamon, Bay leaves
Turmeric powder
Chilli powder
Everest Chhole Masala (Rs 3)
Salt
Sugar - pinch
Coriander leaves - chopped
Chhole (chick peas) - 1 cup (soaked overnight)
Potato - 1 chopped (optional)

Steps:

  1. Heat oil in Pressure cooker
  2. Add Bay leaves, Cloves, Cinnamon, mustard and cumin seeds
  3. When the mustard splitters add chopped onion and ginger garlic paste
  4. Mix well and also add onion paste along with all masalas
  5. Add tomatoes, potato and chhole - mix well and let it cook for 5 mins
  6. Add water, tamarind water, salt and sugar - cover the lid of cooker and let it stand for for 5 to 6 whistles
  7. After opening the lid of cooker add chopped coriander leaves and serve.
